Take 5 minutes to improve the speed of your iPhone or Android smartphone
Why not take a few minutes to improve the speed of your smartphone? Here are a few simple tweaks that should help you get some fresh air for your favorite mobile device.
We all want our smartphone to be faster and smoother. But there are so many tips and tricks to improve performance, and you don't necessarily want to spend hours modifying and optimizing the settings, or even downloading various applications, to have little improvement in exchange. So here is my method to speed up your iPhone or Android smartphone, and all this in less than five minutes.

But there are so many tips and tricks to improve performance, and you don't necessarily want to spend hours modifying and optimizing the settings, or even downloading various applications, to have little improvement in exchange. So here is my method to speed up your iPhone or Android smartphone, and all this in less than five minutes.
On an iPhone
To adjust your iPhone, it will depend on whether it has Face ID or Touch ID. To test if the manipulation worked, you will have to load an already launched application, which will fully recharge instead of resuming where it was.
iPhone with Face ID
You will have to activate the "AssistiveTouch" function, which displays on your screen a small menu (which you can move around on the screen) allowing quick access to various functions. This menu is also very useful, you can activate and use it all the time, like me, especially for taking screenshots. But in this case, it mainly gives access to a virtual home button.
To activate AssistiveTouch:
- go to Settings> Accessibility> Touch> AssistiveTouch , then activate the function;
- go to Settings> Accessibility> Accessibility shortcut , then select "AssistiveTouch";
- ask Siri "active AssistiveTouch".
The advantage of the first option is that it allows you to immediately add the "Home" button to the menu by clicking on "Personalize the parent menu", or to check that it is already there.
Once this part is finished, here is how to clean the RAM:
- go to Settings> General> Switch off ;
- do NOT select "Switch off", but use the "AssistiveTouch" menu, and hold down the "Home" virtual button until the screen returns to the Lock screen (approximately one second);
- the RAM is cleaned!
iPhone with Touch ID
For iPhone equipped with Touch ID, the process is simpler:
- go to Settings> General> Switch off ;
- do NOT select "Power off", but hold down the "Home" button until the screen returns to the Home screen (approximately five seconds);
- the RAM is cleaned!
On an Android smartphone
There are multitudes of tips on Android, but I promised you a simple tip that lasts less than 5 minutes, so here it is:
- restart your smartphone, in order to refresh the processes (restarting your Android device from time to time can do it good);
- download and install the CCleaner application ;
- use CCleaner to clean the RAM of your device.
I am generally wary of optimization applications, so it took me a few tests to convince myself that CCleaner is not only safe to use, but also helps speed up the smartphone by freeing up RAM and erasing the useless stuff lying around. I found it so useful that I even bought the pro version so that it could clean my phone automatically almost every day.
