BEEF WITH BROCCOLI


Ingredients for 4 people

Jumped up

2 tbsp. (30 ml) vegetable oil
500 to 600 g lean ground beef
1 large broccoli, cut into a bouquet, peeled, diced
2 cloves of garlic, chopped

Sauce

4 c. (60 mL) ketchup
1 C. (15 mL) Worcestershire sauce
1 C. (15 mL) soy sauce
1 C. (5 mL) strong or sweet mustard
1 C. (15 ml) smoked paprika (optional)

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, make the sauce by whisking all the ingredients together. 
  2. Season the ground beef. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown in the oil, without touching it, for about 2-3 minutes on each side until it is well colored. Turn the heat down to medium, and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, until the beef is cooked.
  3. Add the garlic and broccoli, and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes or until broccoli is cooked to your taste.
  4. Add the sauce and stir. Serve with a steaming rice.
