History

Character

Like its Siamese ancestors, the Balinese Cats are sociable cats, make great noises, playful and curious, and are also intelligent cats.

Health

The Balinese Cat is considered a good health cat, with only a few health problems. One confirmed condition of this cat is progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), which is a form of the disease which causes retinal degeneration in the eye; Can lead to weak vision or impaired vision.
There have been several cases of Bali Cat having cardiomyopathy, which is a disease that causes the heart muscle to grow and impair heart function. There are also some claims that the Balinese cat has a low risk of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Another potential health problem of this breed is liver amyloidosis.
