MARBLE CHOCOLATE CAKE

Ingredients

250 ml (1 cup) flour
125 ml (1/2 cup) of sugar
4 eggs
15 ml (1 tablespoon) cocoa
1 orange, zesty
15 mL (1 tablespoon) baking powder
125 ml (1/2 cup) of melted butter
2 to 3 drops vanilla extract, (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180 ° C (350 ° F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour with the sugar and the baking powder. Add eggs and melted butter. Mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
  3. Separate the preparation in two parts. In one, incorporate the cocoa by sieving it in a fine colander. In the other, add orange zest and, if desired, vanilla.
  4. In a nonstick cake pan, alternately pour each of the two preparations to obtain the marbled effect.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the blade of a knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
