SPICY PEANUT CHICKEN WINGS


Ingredients

2 lb. (1 kg) chicken wings
1/2 cup (125 mL) creamy or crunchy peanut butter
1/4 cup (60 mL) lime juice
2 tbsp. (30 mL) soy sauce
2 tbsp. (30 ml) hoisin sauce
2 tbsp. (30 mL) brown sugar, lightly packed
3 c. (45 ml) Chinese Garlic and Chili Sauce
1 C. (15 mL) hot pepper sauce

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 ° C (425 ° F). If the wings are whole, cut them in half at the joint, then remove and discard the tips. Put the wings in a large bowl.
  2. In another bowl, beat peanut butter and lime juice, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, garlic and chilli sauce and hot pepper sauce until a homogeneous mixture. Mix with the wings so that they are fully coated, while the oven preheats.
  3. Place 1 or 2 greased grids on 1 or 2 baking sheets covered with aluminum foil. Place the wings on the grates on the skin side above, making sure to leave enough space between them. Spread all the remaining peanut butter mixture in the bowl on the wings. Discard any unused sauce left after this step. Cook the wings, turning them half way through cooking, for 35 to 40 minutes. If you wish, sprinkle peanuts into pieces.
