PASTA WITH HAM AND BROCCOLI
Ingredients for 4 people
1 package short pasta (penne, farfalle, shells, etc.)
1 small foot (2 to 3 cups) fresh or frozen broccoli, cut into bouquets
2 cups (500 ml) cooked ham, diced
1/2 small onion, minced
2 tbsp. (30 ml) butter
2 tbsp. (30 ml) flour
1 1/2 cups (375 ml) of milk
1 C. (5 mL) Dijon mustard
1/2 cup (125 mL) grated Parmesan cheese
Salt pepper
Preparation
- Cook the pasta as indicated on the package. During the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli in the pan. Drain and reserve.
- While cooking pasta, sauté onion in butter over medium heat in a large skillet for a few minutes. Add the flour and mix for 1 minute. Whisk in milk, increase heat to high, and stir constantly until boiling. Once the sauce is thickened, lower the heat to medium-low, and stir in the mustard.
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli and the ham and parmesan to the pan. Salt and pepper. Warm it up and serve.
