Instructions on how to simply teach the dog to lie still or stand still

Training how to teach a dog to lie still is a way to help save the life of your pet dog. When will that order save your dog's life? Whenever your dog is about to do a slick act in front of the car door, cross the street while the car is in the car, or the backyard gate ... This is an order that many people forget to practice - and don't Practicing, your dog may not have this skill while training standing still dogs is very important.
What to prepare when teaching dogs to stay still
Prepare yourself for a pea-sized dish in your inventory or your favorite dog's toy. Choose a quiet place. Get a rug for the dog to lie on. It helps communicate with the dog that if it moves from the rug position, it can come back and try again before being rewarded. For dog comfort, you should teach your dog in a "lying position". It can wiggle without leaving its position, while in a "standing" or "sitting" position, the dog often leaves the desired position.
Teaching dog lying
If your dog doesn't know how to "lie", here's how to teach him: Start with the dog sitting in front of you. Hold a piece of bait near your face, then slowly move to the floor. Wait for a while, keep the bait close to the dog's body, then slowly move away from it. Please be patient with this exercise - it may not work perfectly at first. If the dog gets up instead of lying down, try again. Once the dog lies down, give praise and give him a reward.
When the dog is used to performing the "lie down" command, add a verbal suggestion (eg "lie") when the dog is lying down. If you start giving hints before the animal is performing the behavior, the dog will not clearly associate the signal with the behavior. Instead, receive the behavior first and then start giving signals while the dog is performing the behavior. If done correctly, this is an easy way for an animal to know that a particular sign is associated with a particular behavior.
Teach your dog to lie still
To teach a dog to lie still: Want the dog to lie down. Put one hand out to it and say “stay still.” Do it quickly, before it moves. The dog may get excited and stand up. Let him lie down again and repeat: Say "stay still" and give him a reward so he gets the idea that the reward is given only when he sits down.
Then start extending the time before giving the dog a treat. Start using alternative words if you want the dog to move. In fact, you can use the word "break" because it is a word that is often not used in normal conversation. Once your dog is waiting for another signal while "sitting still", you signal, the dog moves and you give it a rest. Take it one step at a time for best results. Continue this process, gradually increasing the number of steps, until the dog sits still waiting while you leave the room and return.
If your dog is irritable or bored, you can start the lesson with a leash on his neck so he can't move. If you use a leash, relax when you tell your dog to "sit still." If your dog needs a lot of lessons with the leash before it can voluntarily "sit still," don't worry. Some dogs need more time to absorb.
Remember to keep all learning as fun as possible. Use a cheerful, patient tone and keep the lesson short and regular.
